To All 2004 Tournament Participants

Well it is always a bittersweet feeling when the tournament is over. The preparation, the friendships renewed, and the golf are all so much fun. Then, in what seems like a flash, it is done, and we have to wait 9 months before starting the process all over again.

I wanted to thank all of you who participated this year for again making our annual tournament so special. I hope all of you enjoyed the events. This was of course a very memorable year for us, as it marked the last time we expect to see Bob Clark and Ron Plough play. I feel very fortunate to have played with them through the years, and actually to have won the CBI with them at Tilden Park in 1995 along with Matt Gross. We thank both of these gentlemen for their participation and support.

There is a list of others to thank, as is always the case. First, to the Directors, Jeff Dense, Ed Zurowski, Don Zaremba, Bill Schack, Scott Wallace and Jack Harrington. Your assistance with almost all aspects of our events is sincerely appreciated (as well as necessary), and we could not have the caliber of tournament we have without you. To our first year participants, Dave Stanton, Kent Takeda, Alex Webster, Andy DeJana, Eric Ruud, Jason Omania, and Tim Furey. We hope you all enjoyed the action, enough so that next year you want to come back. You are of course, all welcome. To all of our out of state participants who traveled far to get here, Bruce Flint and his wife Melanie (Texas), Jim Ferraro (Washington), Dennis Kinion and his wife Tom (Oregon), Eldon Forcey and his wife Heather (Arizona), Perry Wheelock (Maryland), Jeff Dense (Oregon), Don Zaremba (Arizona), Andy DeJana and his wife Trisha (New York), Ed Zurowski (Illinois), John Roberts (Colorado) and Eric Molinar (Oregon). Thank you very much for the effort you put in to be there. And while we are on the subject of long distances, a very special thanks goes out to our guests from Scotland, Alex and Penny Webster. Your effort is unmatched, tremendously appreciated, and will never be forgotten.  Finally I would like to also thank my brother Greg, whose friends I have always considered to be almost as classy as mine.  I appreciate your efforts to bring in so many nice guys, and it is a pleasure for me to meet them all, and to see them enjoy participating in our events.

We are already in the planning stages for 2005. As has already been mentioned the 18th Annual Clark Brothers Invitational will be held on Saturday, July 30th, 2005 at the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo, California. There will be a dinner following the tournament at the course. On Friday night, July 29th,  after the 10th Annual Blue and Gold Cup, there will be a cocktail party/reception/Port Society gathering at my house in Laguna Niguel. Food will also be served at that event. I can tell you right now that our 2005 events will be every bit as good as this year. While Pasatiempo will always be tough to beat, our courses next year are first rate and you will not be disappointed.

So thanks again to all of you. You are what make our event so great, and Greg and I both hope to see you next year when we tee it up again! Until then, I wish you all good health, prosperity, and good golfing!

Charlie Clark
