BATTLE AT THE
BRIDGES 2008
I am also very honored to be
selected to serve as the Gold team captain for this years Gold
and Blue cup match. I expect this year to be one of the most
challenging matches for our Gold team in recent history. The
Bridges GC seems to have been selected as the Blue team
captain’s preference. Captain,
Joe Cantu
, will as always, be ready to take on all competitors and will
be of assistance to his fellow Blue team with some course
knowledge that no one else has. As this is Joe’s “home
course”, he will be expected to play far beyond the level in
his previous ventures in the past Gold and Blue matches, or risk
embarrassment. For this reason, the Gold team will re-double our
efforts to be ready to take away this cup from the Blue team. We
will be ready for all comers and we will bring the Gold and Blue
cup back where it belongs, in the hands of GOLD.

BATTLE AT THE
BRIDGES 2008
I am honored to accept the responsibility of serving as Captain
of the 2008 Blue Squad. My knowledge of the course,
enthusiasm for the competition,
familiarity with the Blue Squad's storied history and talent,
should enable me to lead our team to victory and retain the
always cherished Blue and Gold
Cup. While I respectfully acknowledge the skills of The
Yellow Team and Captain Flint, we will battle to the last shot
of each match and our never-say-die
attitude will surely prevail. May the best team win.

To
All: Thank you for making 2003 another great event. As we put
the 2003 tournament in the books, we already look forward
to hosting everyone in northern California next year. May the
next 12 months be your best ever, we'll see you at
Pasatiempo in 2004!

The 2003 CBI
tournament was sweeter than ever. Ever checking the leader
board after each hole made us that much more determined to catch
Team Batson as we rolled through the back nine. I still
can't believe Richard Hainline's 114 yard wedge to the 18th
green to within 30" of the cup. The heart and soul of
our Team had to be John Dakin, who converted four unbelievable
birdie putts and executed three drives which resulted in par,
birdie, par on those respective holes. Thanks to all for
another great tournament!

I am deeply honored
to accept the invitation to captain the victorious Gold team.
While I know it will be a challenge to follow in Dr. Z's
path, I am certain that my teammates can still kick some Blue
butt and can even the lifetime series score. We are not
afraid of stone cold Bob Anderson or anyone else on the losing
Blue team.

I have
enthusiastically accepted the honor of Captain for the 2003 Blue
and Gold Cup. I will be developing a strategy to
return the Championship to the Blue team and to Northern
California. Good luck Gold and bring your "A"
game next year!!

I must say that I
am really disgusted at the amateur hack job that turned the
webpage into Gold. With Blue still commanding a 4-3 career
lead, I would think Mr. Z could show a little more
respect. To ensure the Blue career dominance holds, I am
asking Mr. Bob Anderson to Captain our squad next year.
The bald pate and the stone-cold glare will bring the focus and
leadership I am looking for. Stone-Cold, I look forward to
your acceptance.

My
review of the various articles, results, and pictures included
in the CBTG website reminded my of the great time Gary Strachn
and I had with all participants at this year's events.
I felt that my game on Saturday was as outstanding as my disgusting
showing at the Blue & Gold Cup was despicable.
My apologies go out to Curtis Montgomery for not providing him
with any kind of a match on Friday at the grueling Poppy Ridge
course. I would also like to apologize to
Mr. Greg Clark for my conspicuous absence at the post party held
at his lovely residence. Although my listed excuse was
that the weather was too hot to stay in any longer, the truth
was that I needed to nurse my self pity and embarrassment back
at the Marriott Hotel.
I was however, much prouder of my contributions on Saturday to
Tom Doyle, Mark Russell, and Gary Strachn in the CBI tourney.
Although it's not on the scorecard, our 4 under par performance
was saved by at least a half dozen "long snake" putts
made by me to save par or make birdie.
Thanks to you, Greg, Mary, Patrick, Matt and Kevin for keeping
the event running strong year after year.
