My First Tournament
By Patrick Clark
In the morning, my Dad and I set off for Tilden Park Golf Course.
When we got there, Dr. Dense and Mr. Zaremba were ready to set up the
putting contest so I volunteered to help them. After that I went and
helped at the check-in desk. After helping with that, I went to the
range. I was hitting the ball terribly. Now it was time for me to tee
off. I hit a 145 yard drive right down the middle of the fairway. The 4th
hole we used my drive and parred that hole. By the 16th hole
we had used four of my drives. The 17th hole we had to use
Mr. Z’s drive, which was way right, because he needed three drives. My
ball was in the middle of the fairway, 175 yards from the tee. We ended
up bogeying that hole which made us one over par. On the 18th,
Mr. Z. hit one right in the middle of the fairway. We used that drive.
We ended up bogeying that hole too. On all four of my drives that we
used we parred. After I finished I was starving so I ate dinner. During
that time Dr. Dense gave me some really nice Titleist balls. Thanks
again Dr. Dense. When I got back to the Hotel I went and watched a movie
with my Uncle Jim and Bruce. After the movie was over at 11:30 we went
to the suite. It was crazy in there. Right when I got there Mr. Retzlaff
kept telling me to say, "Fix your hair" to Mr. Moffett. When I
went into the bathroom I saw a tub full of beer and ice – nice cooler.
When I was leaving it was 1:00 a.m. and a security guard was on his way
to the suite. I had an awesome day. The next day I left to go back home.
That was my first tournament.
