Steve Ferraro 1922-2003

Steve Ferraro, fellow golfer and friend, passed away on May 7th in Florida after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Steve was a proud Father, a former Marine, and a veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. He was involved in the beverage industry in various capacities for a number of years, all of them being on the East Coast. He was also a passionate golfer, a long time member of the beautiful Huntington Crescent Club in Huntington, New York. Steve only played in our tournament one year – 1997. At the Blue and Gold Cup that year, Steve played as a non-competing marker alongside the Greg Clark – Jeff Dense match at San Clemente. The following day Steve teamed up with his son Jim, Matt Gross and yours truly, and our group toured the Tijeras Creek course in two under par – unfortunately far out of the running. While I know Steve really enjoyed our event, his failing health kept him from participating again. Steve is no doubt now playing the links up in the skies with a new set of clubs. Steve Ferraro was my father-in-law. He was a good one, and he will be missed.
